A sailor, a conservationist, and a stubborn optimist
OceanWins was born from a lifelong connection to the Ocean and a belief in the power of storytelling to drive positive change.
Founder Léa Hein’s relationship with the Sea began at an early age, when spending 13 years sailing around the world with her family, crossing 4 Oceans and travelling to 46 countries before the age of 18. Those years shaped her deep understanding of the Ocean as an interconnected system, its beauty and fragility, the communities connected to it, and the urgent need to protect it.
This personal connection evolved into a professional mission. Through her work in environmental philanthropy and climate innovation, including experience supporting impact-driven initiatives and climate technology ventures, Léa witnessed the incredible people working with dedication and creativity to protect our Ocean and Planet.
OceanWins was created to bring these stories to light, showcasing the innovators, organizations, and communities driving Ocean conservation and the blue economy forward.
